We will biking though the white mountains along the Franconia Notch Bicycle Trail!   Please read and respond to this important information! BIKE CLINIC, Thursday, AUGUST 26, 2:00 pm This is an opportunity for you to make sure your bicycle is in good working order and that your helmet is fit properly We will also be teaching some basic bicycle maintenance and care, including how to change a tire/tube and to get a chain back on the rings. REGISTRATION/RELEASE FORM  https://fcbcnh.org/youth-group/registration Helmets are REQUIRED for adults and youth - no exceptions!  If you do not have a helmet, please tell us NO LATER THAN THE BIKE CLINIC ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 26, so that we can get one for you This is a 14.4 mile (7.2 miles each way) paved trail with several steep hills and approximately 1,550’ of climbing (1,050’ to bridge, 500’ during return).  It is a challenging ride for beginners or casual cyclists; however, we will have some support options to help people who have mechanical problems or “run out of gas.”  Stronger riders will have the option to tack on an additional 2.8 miles.  Link to trail map: https://goo.gl/maps/AVe6gor2P2rUQ51Z7 In addition to your bicycle and helmet, please pack a lunch, water, snacks, sunscreen, and money for ice cream on the way home. Schedule: 8:00 AM – Meet at FCBC – load up bikes, pray, get instructions 8:30 AM – Depart FCBC 9:30 AM – Arrive Flume Visitor Center: Unload, pray, and pass out directions 10:00 AM – Begin riding the notch 12:00 PM – Lunch at Governor Gallen Bridge 12:30 PM – Start return trip 2:30 PM – Load up bikes 3:00 PM – Depart Flume Visitor Center 4:30 PM – Arrive FCBC (stop for ice cream on return) RSVPs are REQUIRED!  Contact Wendy at Wendy.fcbc@gmail.com NO LATER THAN THURSDAY, AUGUST 26 if you will be joining us!  Please include the following information: Names and ages of riders (parents and other family members are welcome to join us – youth younger than YG age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian) Contact information for you and for your parent/guardian Your assessment of your bicycling ability If your parent/guardian is planning to drive, please tell us how many seats and/or bicycles your vehicle can take. Whether or not you plan to attend the Bike Clinic on the AUGUST 26 (see more information below) If you need to borrow a helmet If you need to borrow a bicycle (we will do our best to find one – tell us ASAP so that we have the best opportunity to find one.  Please also give us your height and inseam in inches) If you find out after the AUGUST 26 that you will be able to join us, we will do our best to find room for you, but tell Wendy ASAP!
